_Wild Guides_

_Helping us connect with nature_

We must tell the story better

It’s not just just about getting the data analysed

Or accurately monitoring the habitats

Or auditing the implications of policy

Or introducing statutes

To be successful in making the necessary changes

We must articulate the message

In a way that everyone gets

So they recognise the part they can play.

This is where Wild Guides can help

The image of the mouse is ascribed to a Heraclitus floor tiling from the 2nd century AD.

Even the least of us can do something to make a positive difference to this world.

As expressed in the Hindu story of Rama, freeing Sita from imprisonment on the island of Lanka.

Rama needed to build a bridge to rescue Sita

He called upon all to help.

Along with many of the great beasts, a tiny animal joined the industry… and set to, busy with purpose, bringing grit and sand to the causeway.

Seeing its tiny form scurry back and forth, back and forth, the big animals laughed… but Rama thanked the tiny animal, as ‘…the grains would help bind the larger boulders together and stabilise Sita’s bridge.’

August ’24

Toby was able to explain to Gwion Bach that he had grown up in nature…

“As I stand in Nature I’m reminded of the majesty and power of the world we are effecting. We should all stop and take a moment to remind ourselves that we live in a natural world of beauty and should take care not to loose it.”

March ’24

Gwion Back had a special invitation to see The White Book of Rhydderch, in which his namesake appears, in the Tale of Taliesin.

It was written around 1350 and librarian Dr Maredudd ap Huw said that in the 17c, another mouse had made a visit and left a calling card.
