David is the Managing Director of Wild Connect and leads the Biophone project and “nature-tech” innovations.
Since attaining his Biology and Business Management degree from Imperial College London, David has worked in software development, biotechnology and conservation. He is currently completing a Masters in Electronics and Electrical Engineering at Swansea University.
His academic and professional work is focused on harnessing advanced technology for use in conservation and science.
David has worked with several wildlife conservation charities, including Save the Rhino International, Save the Rhino Trust Namibia, The Wild and Free Foundation, and Conservation Without Borders. Through Wild Connect, he has worked with several Universities, NGOs and research organisations. Most recently, the Cần Thơ University Dragon Mekong Research Institute in Vietnam.
David has worked on several high-profile “Art in the Service of the Environment’ projects such as the ‘Ice Bear Project’ for COP ’15, the UK festival show ‘Spirit of the Rhino Drum’, and the ‘Flight of the Osprey’. He has also run extracurricular projects with students across all age groups in the Welsh Valleys with a focus on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Maths).
