Jack is a soundscape ecologist and a scientific adviser on the Biophone project.
He has helped pioneer the development of ecoacoustic monitoring in freshwater environments to describe functional processes and trends in freshwater biodiversity. Now, he is working in the Spanish Pyreneese to describe alpine soundscapes and how they are changing in response to climate change.
Additionally, he has worked extensively with artists and the media to highlight freshwater biodiversity using sound recordings by producing an album, multiple radio programmes, installations, and an award-winning short documentary.
